Police were called and arrive shortly after, finding Lirette’s head was sitting near a trash bag that contained his dismembered body.
“When I got here, it was something to be upset about,” said Capt. Calvin Cooks. “It struck a nerve.”
Police say Wright was charged with the murder after he admitted to killing the boy and then dismembering him over the family’s kitchen sink. No motive for the murder has been reported.
Lirette’s mother was not at home at the time during the murder or the discovery, but had to be hospitialized when she arrived at the scene and was informed of her son’s murder.
Police say this is not the first time they have been to the home, having responded to a domestic call one month prior that led to no arrests being made.
Neighbors also described arguing at the home since the couple moved in a few months ago, but nothing that would have anyone suspect something like this happening.

In case you didn't read the whole article, I'll sum it up for you.

A 7 year old boy was killed by his father by the way of cutting his body parts off with a saw. The father dismembered the body, then set his son's head on the sidewalk so that the boy's mother would see it when she got home. The father said after the baby was born that he should be dead so he didn't have to suffer (the boy was handicapped) and it's apparent since then he's been planning to kill the boy.

stuff like this is just... depressing and disgusting and makes me lose faith in humanity

But acts like these are also what gave me an initial interest in being a criminal psychologist. I'm just so curious about what makes them think the way they do, you know? I understand that he saw his child was wheelchair bound and that he wouldn't have the best in life because of it but what gave him the leap from that to 'the best solution to this problem is taking a chainsaw to my child' is what I'm interested in it. Is it a brain tumor (I heard that was the case with one man who massacred several. there was a tumor pressing in on a part of his brain) or what...

He just *****ed himself. But what do I expect from a piece of *****, that wants to play savior for his son? He just wanted an excuse, told everyone he wanted to save the kid. To ease his sentence. Will not happen. Disgusting, I'm ashamed that I'm a human.

 I can kinda understand the basic idea the guy had

But for gods sake why do that!? If you're crazy enough to do that why wait 7 years the boy was probably ok with life somewhat what kind of mental handicap did he have? If he was retarded(I have no idea if that's PC sorry if not) then that's just unfair he would have had a life and did

I think that guy was just insane and thought that maybe saying this would justify it to everyone

 I agree, seeing things like this makes me lose faith in humanity. What the hell is wrong with us? The guy needs to rot in a cell for the rest of his existence. I too feel like he is just trying to justify his sick-minded desires by saying he was putting the boy out of his misery. HAD that been the case, you would think he'd do something like let the kid roll down a steep hill in the wheelchair and say it was an accident or something. But no, he brutally murdered the boy, and put the poor kid's head on display for the mom to see. The guy obviously has a few screws loose. :/

You can't judge an entire race by the few bad ones :/ Especially considering every Human is different. MAYBE if you were related to that guy, or his friend or something it'd make sense, but hating being human just because of the bad humans? That's kinda silly if you ask me...

People need to stop blaming the ENTIRE human race for these things >_> There's no perfect race anyway, you'll never find a race where every single member is 100% perfect.

 Yeah... we're humans. We're screwed up. There are great humans, who strive to do good. But then on the other hand, there are those corrupt minds who do nothing but evil. It's all part of us being that smart, we have the power to be sentient enough to choose to be bad or good. However, in this guys's case, and other psychopaths, they may not know it is wrong. That doesn't make it right for them to do it, but they're just screwed up. That's how complex the human mind is, that there is that potential to think that way.

Not being serious, obviously, but, how else am I supposed to respond to something like this? It's gross, it's nasty. It's insane. The dude was a nutjob. Murdered his kid. Honestly, doesn't surprise me. It's a cultural norm nowadays for stuff like this to happen. Oh well. ***** happens. Sucks to be the mom.

I mean surely there were some warning signs there's no way he was right in the head if his offspring was mentally handicapped it's likely because he had something or something runs in the family

If he really done it because he cared why the ***** didn't he just put the kid to sleep at least that's somewhat humane

He will probably get out within 10 years or something things like that always happen with the law it's disgusting probably go for the insanity plea
I don't see how that makes it fine in SOME cases but not as many as people get away with

 This makes me physically sick. Acting as a saviour just to kill a kid who was disabled and suffering.

I may seem like a heartless **** when I say this but if the method of murder and disposal were different, this wouldn't have had such a major impact on me. But decapitating him, dismembering him ? What the ****?

He called the kid a ''dummy'' and began contemplating on whether to kill him after the kid looked at him strangely. Was this man severely mentally challenged or just a sadistic ****?

The sad thing is, he'll plead guilty and his sentence will most likely be reduced.

This is just an example of how corrupt and sadistic a human being has the potential of becoming, that's why I'm afraid.

 Honestly, stuff happens like this so much that I can't even muster up the ability to even care. I think that's more frightening. That it's a societal norm and people are actually getting used to psychopaths slaughtering their children.
